How to find the right main hydraulic pump for your excavators?

It is difficult to find the right replacement main hydraulic pump and return this product due to its high price and large size. So how can you make sure you find the right pump the first time?

It is common to find the part number from a parts book, then buy the original hydraulic pump to ensure you are looking for the correct one. However, this method will cost you a lot, as the original part is more expensive than you think.

So, here are some tips and examples to help you find the right hydraulic pump at a lower cost.

The most important step you need to do is: Find the manufacture number on your hydraulic pump’s nameplate.

There are many hydraulic pump manufacturers, including Rexroth, Uchida, Kawasaki, Kayaba, Nachi, Sauer Danfoss, Eaton and so on. Some of these pumps will be sold to excavator manufacturers, such as Komatsu, Hitachi, Cat and so on. Others will be sold in their own markets. Pumps sold to excavator manufacturers get renamed part numbers and are resold at a relatively high price to customers. In other words, we can locate the source manufacturer with a nameplate of hydraulic pumps if you would like to buy them and save a lot of money. Almost half the price of OEM quality!

Now let me give you an example to make it easier to understand:

Eaton company produced the HPV118HW pump, which was supplied to Hitachi company. As a result, Hitachi uses this pump in ZAXIS270-3 excavators and gives it a Hitachi part number of 9257346. If you order part number 9257346 from Hitachi, it’s difficult to find and quite expensive. But if you search HPV118HW hydraulic pump, you can easily find it for less than half the price!

Actually, Hitachi ZX200-3, ZX210H-3, ZAXIS270-3, ZAXIS280LC-3, John Deere 270D LC and 200DLC excavators are all using Eaton’s HPV118HW hydraulic pump. There might also be confusion among some readers as to whether HPV118HW-268 is the same pump as HPV118HW?

The answer is YES! They are the same one. HPV118HW-268, HPV118HW-238, and so on are the same series. Just search HPV118HW to get the right pump at a reasonable price. In addition, the main hydraulic pump repair kits can be found in the same way!
