Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI), a global leader in power technology, announced that its new energy business unit will adopt a new brand name, Accelera. The business provides diverse zero-carbon power solutions to many critically important industries worldwide, helping to accelerate their transition to a sustainable future.

The launch of the new brand is a significant step for Cummins in achieving its zero-carbon goal strategy, focusing on zero-carbon technology and achieving zero emissions in its product portfolio. Cummins’ zero-carbon strategy aims to help industries achieve decarbonization through diverse power solutions. In the past few years, Cummins has invested over $1.5 billion in technology research and development and acquisitions to build Accelera’s industry position and technological capabilities. Accelera is at the forefront of global zero-carbon technology, providing reliable pure electric and fuel cell power solutions to global customers and deploying hundreds of advanced electrolysis hydrogen production units.

“To achieve the zero-carbon goal by 2050, it is necessary to fully coordinate the power of all business matrices.” Jennifer Rumsey, President and CEO of Cummins, said, “We will continue to optimize engine-based power solutions based on customer needs, while also building a diverse portfolio of zero-carbon power technologies, such as electric and fuel cell powertrains for the commercial vehicle industry, and electrolysis-based hydrogen production equipment for the green hydrogen production sector. The new brand Accelera demonstrates our commitment to practicing and leading zero-carbon power technology, highlighting our deep accumulation in this field over the years, including insights into user needs and application markets, technical expertise, and extensive service and support networks. We will work hand in hand with customers in the energy transformation process to help them succeed.”

Accelera focuses on developing zero-carbon power solutions, including five product lines: fuel cells, pure electric, electric drive axles, traction and transmission systems, and electrolysis-based hydrogen production equipment. Accelera is both a parts supplier and an integrator, helping to decarbonize areas such as public transportation, trucks, rail transportation, construction equipment, fixed power sources, and carbon-intensive industries.

Amy Davis will serve as President of Accelera, having been responsible for Cummins’ new energy power business since 2020. She has had a career at Cummins for over 25 years, holding various global leadership positions. In her new role, she will continue to lead zero-carbon technology innovation and support customers in achieving their zero-carbon goals.

“The goal of Accelera is to help important global industries move towards a sustainable future,” said Amy Davis. “The new brand drives us to focus more on our business and ensure that we maintain a leading position in the constantly changing zero-carbon market. We will leverage Cummins’ deep insights into user needs and application markets to continuously launch and upgrade zero-carbon technologies, accelerating the transition to clean energy.”
