Compared with the previous generation Cat 315F, the Cat 315GC excavator has a wider field of vision and a lower maintenance cost. There is a 25% reduction in maintenance costs and a 15% reduction in fuel consumption.

According to Caterpillar, compared with the previous generation Caterpillar 315F, the CAT315GC ‘s narrow cab column is significantly larger and the rear, front, and side windows increase the vertical visibility of the cab by 60%.

The machine’s Cat 3.6 engine has a high ambient temperature operating capability of 125 degrees Fahrenheit, which is combined with the new smart mode operating technology (315 GC automatically matches engine and hydraulic power to suit the digging conditions) and the ECO mode for less demanding applications. Compared with 315F, it can reduce fuel consumption by up to 15%. By eliminating the need for pilot lines, the new hydraulic control valve reduces pressure loss and decreases fuel consumption.

There is more space in the driver’s cabin

Caterpillar claims that its comfortable cab has a wider vertical view than the Caterpillar 315F.There is an 8-inch LCD touch screen display in the new cab. The standard rear-view and right-side view cameras further improve visibility. In comparison with the previous design, the viscous mount reduces vibration in the cab and operator fatigue.

Maintaining is more convenient

Hydraulic oil filters can provide improved filtration, and the interval between filter replacements can be increased to 3,000 working hours, an increase of 50% over the previous model. When the hydraulic filter is changed, the hydraulic oil remains clean thanks to the anti-drain valve. An operator can track the life of a filter and its maintenance interval using the cab monitor. All routine maintenance checkpoints are accessible from the ground.
